The state of Missouri has been involved with the American Dental Assistants Association since at least 1940 and the first state president was Vivian Prose.  We currently have 188 members. The state of Missouri utilizes expanded functions dental assistants. An assistant can hold a permit to perform expanded function duties for Restorative I, Restorative II, Orthodontics, Fixed Prosthetics and Removable Prosthetics. Assistants must have a CDA, or a Missouri Basic Skills certificate in order to take the courses to obtain the permits. More information can be found at www.moefda.org. The MDAA has provided many continuing education opportunities for our members over the years in various locations, such as Kansas City, St. Joe, Lake of the Ozarks, Branson to name a few. Most recently, we had a nitrous oxide monitoring class. Educational opportunities continue to be important to us. Our MDAA members have been very active and generous to volunteer at various outreach events in the state.

The Nebraska Dental Assistants Association has been promoting and supporting the professional Dental Assistant since 1917. The NDAA as well as the Lincoln Dental Assistants Association, Mid-State Dental Assistants Association, and Omaha Dental Assistants Society are providing education, networking opportunities as well as many other exciting opportunities to their members.
